Let me tell you about an Arabian beach stay where camels roam freely, fresh coconuts and papaya abound, your private villa oasis awaits and the infinity pool meets the ocean…
These were our discoveries when Part 2 of our Oman adventure took us to Salalah in the southern province of Dhofar.
After experiencing the highest five star resort in the Middle East, we took a 1 hr 45 domestic flight from Muscat to Salalah. A short transfer landed us at the doorstep of the luxurious Al Baleed Resort Salalah by Anantara, our oasis for the next two days.
Let me show you around.
Al Baleed Resort Salalah by Anantara
The resort is a world unto itself with a stylish restraint in decor. The infinity pool is certainly the most beautiful part of the resort stopping tantalisingly close to the ocean. After check in, Chris and I were shown to our private 1 Bedroom Garden View Villa (bigger than our flat in England!). I felt like the Queen of Sheba with my own personal pool and welcome frankincense foot massage!
Things To Do
When you travel to such a unique destination as Salalah you just have to explore!
- Tour West Salalah with a Salalah Guru – Mughsayl beach and ‘blow holes’, natural springs, roaming camels and donkeys, learn about the collection of frankincense, breath-taking views weaving the mountains on Zig Zag Road.
- Sample local produce at the fruit markets
- Back at the resort take the beach buggy or a horse for a spin up the beach
The resort offers three restaurants for dining experiences that pack a punch. From the fusion of Asian cuisines at Mekong, the expansive buffet breakfast at Sakalan to the beachside Mediterranean flavours of Al Mina. Highlights include the Mango Sticky Rice at Mekong, Shakshuka eggs at Sakalan and Wagyu beef at Al Mina. Just. Eat. Everything!
Our Arabian beach stay in Salalah is certainly an experience we will never forget!
A huge thank you to Oman Tourism UK and Al Baleed Resort Salalah by Anantara for hosting us.
