When was the last time you had a truly unforgettable date? I’m not talking about going down to your local for a pint, or grabbing a takeaway curry… I’m talking about the kind of date night you’ll be talking about to each other in a few years from now.
That’s exactly what our stay with One Aldwych in Covent Garden was.
This particular date night consisted of a stay in a truly stunning hotel, theatrical cocktails and a modern take on Basque cuisine. Of course, date night wouldn’t be complete without a full English breakfast the following morning and a stroll around Covent Garden and the West End.
Disclaimer: One Aldwych is part of The Leading Hotels of the World; a luxury collection of 375 hotels around the world. They were kind enough to put us up for the night and we could not be more grateful!
One Aldwych were kind enough to place us in the Deluxe Room and it was everything we’d imagined, and more! This generously-sized room boasted a bed fit for a King (and his Queen), a beautiful bath and a divine sound system by Bang and Olufsen.
Also, it’s got to be said – the views were incredible! Did I mention that One Aldwych is in the heart of Covent Garden?
The Lobby Bar
There’s a reason that The Sunday Telegraph listed the Lobby Bar as one of the top five hotel bars in the world… Actually, there’s probably a few! Not only is this open space impeccably dressed with modern furnishings and whimsical sculptures, the cocktails are also second to none.
The current cocktail menu, Showtime, is inspired by West End shows and these bespoke cocktails are every bit as good as they look!
Dinner at Eneko at One Aldwych
Let’s be real – when it comes to date nights, it’s the dinner that makes or breaks your evening. Our meal at Eneko at One Aldwych absolutely made our evening spectacular!
Chef Eneko Atxa has put together a modern take on Basque country cuisine, and the result is a colourful, flavoursome and theatrical experience.
Exploring Covent Garden
The following morning, it was time to explore Covent Garden. Given how extraordinary our stay was at One Aldwych, you could nearly forget that you were on the doorstep of this vibrant area of London.
Walking around is a reminder of why people absolutely love London; It’s got culture, history, beauty and a whole lot of photogenic pubs too!
If you haven’t figured it out by now, we absolutely loved our night at One Aldwych. This hotel truly reflects the diverse and theatrical location of Covent Garden, so if you’re looking for something extra special for your extra special someone, we could not recommend it enough!
Once again, a huge thank you to The Leading Hotels of the World – we had the most incredible night!
