Planning a Summer escape in Europe? You should absolutely consider Dubrovnik! This Croatian wonder is beautiful, historical and accompanied by a whole lot of sunshine.
Two days is the perfect amount of time to visit Dubrovnik. Enough time to enjoy some Rakia (home-made brandy), scale the city walls, and get way too much sun by the sea.
Below is our 48 Hour Dubrovnik Itinerary, hope you find it useful!
Where to stay: Lapad
Lapad is a quiet, relaxed suburb just a ten minute bus from Old Town. Also, when it comes to accommodation – remember beauty is pain! The more stairs you drag your baggage up, the better the view will be!
Our AirBnb lacked decent wifi, but home-made Rakia and a friendly host made for a pleasant stay.
Activity: Relax in Lapad
If you find yourself amongst a crowded beach spot in Lapad… keep walking! The coast offers a plethora of nooks and crannies to set yourself up and let the sun soak you. After, why not grab yourself a coffee?
Activity: Scale the walls of Old Town
Old Town Dubrovnik can feel pretty hectic. With tourists, selfie sticks and Game of Thrones tours abounding, it’s refreshing to rise above it all. You can buy tickets to the walls of Old Town from the Tourist Office, and it provides an incredible view of the city!
Activity: Catch a sunset from Lovrijenac
If you’re a ‘escape the crowds and find a high spot that overlooks a walled city’ kind of person, this is for you! This fortress is worthy of a visit in its own right, but made even more special by the views overlooking Dubrovnik at sunset.
Activity: Wander ALL the Streets of Old Town
Due to the popularity of Dubrovnik, Old-Town can be pretty overwhelming! We found we got the best out of the city when we arrived early one morning, and wandered as many side-streets as we could find.
Do: See one more sunset… because you can!
Dubrovnik is a stunning city that will look incredible from wherever you are standing!
So… that’s it!
